July 10 (Bloomberg) -- Tsunami warnings were issued for Japan’s Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures after an earthquake struck northeastern Honshu at 10 a.m. local time. An advisory notice for the region, which was devastated by the March 11 magnitude-9 temblor and tsunami, was issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency after the quake, which measured as strong as four on the Japanese intensity scale of one to seven. The U.S. Geological Survey measured the earthquake at a preliminary magnitude of 7.1, reporting it was centered 10 kilometers (6 miles) deep offshore 423 kilometers northeast of Tokyo.
